Sailing through Panarea and Stromboli is like navigating a world where fire and sea meet in timeless harmony. Panarea, the smallest of the Aeolian Islands, enchants with its chic elegance, rugged islets, and hidden coves, bathed in soft Mediterranean light. Stromboli, by contrast, is a living volcano — its fiery pulses visible from the sea as incandescent bursts dance on its summit. The dramatic profile of Stromboli, the plunging walls of the Sciara del Fuoco, and the remote charm of Ginostra create a setting that feels both primordial and deeply poetic. The journey across these islands offers an intimate encounter with nature’s power, luxury, and raw volcanic beauty.

Tour Itinerary
Messina Port
A bustling gateway port on Sicily’s northeastern tip, serving as the starting point for a voyage into the Aeolian Islands. From here, you leave the mainland behind and head toward volcanic wonders.

Stromboli Island
The iconic volcanic island, crowned by an active volcano that continuously emits small explosive bursts. Its conical shape dominates the sea, and its eruption rhythm has earned it the nickname “Lighthouse of the Mediterranean.”

Strombolicchio
A rugged sea stack just northeast of Stromboli, Strombolicchio is a remnant of an ancient volcanic plug. It’s topped by a lighthouse and protected as a nature reserve, offering dramatic visuals from a boat.

Sciara del Fuoco
Meaning “Stream of Fire,” this large horseshoe-shaped slope on Stromboli’s northwest flank channels glowing lava and incandescent debris during eruptions — an absolutely mesmerizing spectacle when viewed from the sea.

Ginostra
A tiny, peaceful village on the southwestern side of Stromboli, reachable only by boat. With no cars and an amphitheater of white houses, Ginostra feels like a timeless retreat — especially magical under the glow of volcanic light.

Basiluzzo
A small, uninhabited islet northeast of Panarea, characterized by steep cliffs and wild nature. Basiluzzo is part of the marine reserve around Panarea and makes for a secluded and dramatic waypoint.

Panarea Island
Panarea is the epitome of elegance in the Aeolian archipelago: tiny islets, chic bays, and a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. From the deck, you’ll see charming rock formations, turquoise waters, and the island’s gentle silhouette rising from the sea.

Cala Junco
One of Panarea’s most famous coves: a secluded lagoon surrounded by steep volcanic cliffs. The water is crystal-clear, and the bay’s dramatic setting makes it a perfect anchoring spot for swimming, snorkeling, or simply soaking in the island’s raw beauty.

Milazzo Port
A major port on mainland Sicily’s northeastern coast. This is a common departure or return point for sailing routes to the Aeolian Islands, offering good infrastructure and a lively waterfront.
